Moms' Apple Crisp

INGREDIENTS:
Filling: Topping:
- 10 apples (Golden Delicious, - 1 cup Bisquick
Granny Smith and/or Rome apples) - 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup sugar - 1/4 sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon - 3 tbsp unsalted, cold butter cut into
- 1 tsp cornstarch small cubes
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg - 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg or allspice
DIRECTIONS:
1. Peel Core and slice all apples. You can place the slices in a cold bowl of water while you peel all remaining apples.
2. Combine the 1/2 cup of sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1 teaspoon cornstarch, and 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg and mix with apples in a large bowl.
3. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
4. Place apples in a 9" X 12" oven proof baking dish
5. By hand or in a food processor (on low setting) Combine Bisquick, flour, 1/4 cup sugar, butter, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg or allspice. Mix together until it becomes a crumbly consistency
6. Sprinkle this mixture over the apples in your baking dish and cover with foil.
7. Place in oven for 40-45 minutes until apples are soft.
8. Serve in bowl with a scoop of ice cream on top.
